Thank
you for visiting our site. We are excited about being
able to serve our community. The Junior Thunderbirds is
organized as an amateur youth sports program exclusively
for charitable and educational purposes and to foster
national amateur athletic competition within the meaning
of § 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986
(as amended).
The
primary objective of the Junior Thunderbirds is to inspire
youth with our core values, regardless of race, color
or creed; which are:
•
Build healthy minds and bodies;
• Develop skill and proficiency in sports and related
activities;
• Teach the concepts of teamwork, sportsmanship
(in victory and defeat), loyalty, honesty and pride;
• Stimulate community interest in sports;
• Teach discipline,
• Teach self-control
• Teach respect to oneself as well as teammates,
coaches, family and community.
What
sets the Thunderbirds Apart from the other area youth
teams?
Our
football program is in its second year, all of our age
divisions made it to the TYFA playoff circuit with all
but our flag division advancing to the second round in
2007. While our Cheer team took 1st place at the 2007
TYFA Cheer Competition.
We
provide our athletes with sports specific training help
prevent injuries and develop proper muscle growth. Our
program has a working relationship with Catz Sports, a
premier training program for football, basketball and
track athletes. More information about them can be found

Additionally,
our cheer program has discounted rates and a good relationship
with River City Gymnastics located 2831
NE LOOP 410 every Thursday evening from 6:30PM
until 8PM,to
specifically train our athletes in tumbling.
We
are the only program in the Metrocom area that offers
4 competitive youth sports programs (football, cheer,
basketball and track).
