This league is purely recreation
and designed for athletes wanting to try the sport as well as coaches that want to introduce themselves to the basketball experience. It sponsored and developed by the Spurs, Pizza Hut and Valero through the Kids Sports Network .
The Spurs Youth Basketball League formally known as the Spurs Drug Free League is focused on providing youth with alternatives for dealing with peer-pressure by making solid decisions.As always the Spurs staff supports the program with guest appearances at the free Kids Clinics along with the infamous Coyote Spurs Mascot. In addition to the Kid's Clinics there is a Spurs 2 ball tournament that the children participate in and the finalist go on to play before the Spurs game at the AT&T center.More details here.
Registration Information
Interested
participants should register online
The
fee is only $65 and no fundraiser's,
your child will receive a SYBL T-shirt and exciting environment.
Parents will need to provide a copy of report card and
birth certificate for age and grade verification.
Registration
Forms can be downloaded from our forms
page and payment can be made through our online
registration or on site during registration. Registration
ends January 9th 2010.
Practice times Information
Practices
for all ages will begin once you have been contacted by
your coach. Details on practice schedule and age groups
will be on the practice
schedule page.
Game Information
There
will be at least 6 games and possibly a playoff for each
age group. Games start in January and are tentatively
scheduled to be played on Saturdays details on schedule
page. There will be at least one practice per week on
the schedule chosen by the Coach of the Team but will
be held at a Judson ISD school. Games are scheduled to
start the weekend of January 164th, 2010. Click
